Living a “double life” does not need to be something that is a major event or has a dramatic or secretive background; it can simply mean that you express different aspects of yourself relative to the situation you’re in.
Some of us do this more or less naturally, based on our ability to shift our behavior, speech, and thought process depending on the context of our environment.
Within astrology, certain signs are often more adept than others in being able to separate these two very different sides of themselves; however, they might not actually be trying to do this intentionally.
Individuals with these signs tend to have parts of themselves that remain private from the rest of the world while being able to fully function in day-to-day life.
1. Gemini
Gemini has the natural ability to move seamlessly between two different thought processes depending on the situation they are in; therefore, they may sometimes appear as two completely different people.
One might see them in an office setting, structured and focused on work; however, one might see them in a social setting, being more flamboyant and/or unpredictable.
This change is not forced, but it is rather a natural transition that exists because they are able to adapt quickly to any environment. They are also able to see multiple points of view at the same time; to them, this makes it easy to separate and/or isolate aspects of their life.
People around them might see the contrast, but the contrast does not appear as something “hidden” to a Gemini; it feels like a completely normal part of being a Gemini.
2. Scorpio
Scorpios tend to keep most aspects of their life private; some will share certain information openly while withholding many other important details about their lives.
They have been able to develop a definite separation between what is publicly viewable and what is known only to them.
At work or socially, they seem direct, while in personal situations, they are more intense. This is intentional. They decide what to share, creating a layered way of life.
3. Pisces
Piscis moves fluidly between reality and thought. This gives them a feeling of living in two different spaces at once. They are present; most of their focus is inside.
This affects how they interact; sometimes they are very present, and other times, they seem far away emotionally.
They are not hiding anything specific; it’s how they process reality. Their internal and external worlds do not always line up.
4. Libra
Libra adjusts to who they are with. Their goal is balance, so they show different sides of themselves in different situations.
For example, in a work situation, they may seem more decisive, while they may become more accommodating in a personal situation.
The resulting sense of duality is because they continue to operate in different roles without combining them into one consistent way of being.
5. Aquarius
Aquarius separates what they think personally from how they are in a social situation. They have many strong ideas that they do not speak about openly.
In social situations, they are neutral or detached from the others in the group. In private, their thought processes are more complex and explore nontraditional ideas.
There is a large gap between their internal world and their external world, which is comfortable to them. They are able to operate in different environments while keeping some part of themselves unknown.
6. Capricorn
Capricorn has clearly divided parts of his/her life. There is a separación between his/her work, personal life, and goals, which creates separate identities for this sign.
The professional side feels focused and structured, while the personal side feels more relaxed and sometimes unpredictable. This division gives Capricorn the ability to handle multiple responsibilities without them overlapping with one another.
The overall result is that Capricorns live a structured duality in support of their long-term plans and personal yearnings.
7. Cancer
Cancer generally only shows one side of itself in everyday life, but it will show the other side to someone they trust.
In everyday situations, Cancers appear calm and stable. In personal relationships, they will be much more expressive.
This creates a sense of two layers to Cancer’s life. Cancer is not hiding anything, but is using emotional energy as needed based on where they feel emotionally secure and what type of environment they are in.
