It uses <strong>shame<\/strong> a <strong>discourage honesty<\/strong> and independent thought.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once you notice this, the world loses a lot of its power.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Are you being fair and clear? Are you polite? If so, then it&rsquo;s just people&rsquo;s discomfort talking, and it&rsquo;s not your job to fix it.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You should listen to feedback, sure. It can be very useful. But don&rsquo;t shrink yourself to make it easier on anyone.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Their close relationships work because there is mutual respect, or they leave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When you try to be easy, relationship take a strange turn, where you&rsquo;re <strong>always available<\/strong> and flexible, while the other side holds their own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It feels like you&rsquo;re generous, and you even get praised for it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It&rsquo;s only when you need someone to be flexible for you that you see this dynamic for what it is: entitled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Boundaries prevent relationships from collapsing because there&rsquo;s <strong>rispetto reciproco<\/strong> e <strong>chiarezza<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">People who care easily decide to adapt to things that are important to you. People who benefited from your lack of boundaries call you selfish.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Then, when the other side doesn&rsquo;t get it, we feel hurt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That&rsquo;s a bad way to go about relationships, because it&rsquo;s not sustainable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To the people who care about you, asking directly is easier. They <strong>want you to be happy<\/strong>, so they simply want to know what you need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your wants are only labeled difficult by the people who can&rsquo;t be bothered with them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That&rsquo;s because they see you as a person who is providing something to their life, not the other way around.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. They begin with <strong>tiny concessions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You let one rude comment slide, then another; you agree to do a favor you know will inconvenience you more than it&rsquo;s worth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Give it a little time, and this turns into an <strong>expectation<\/strong>. It&rsquo;s who you become: someone who stays no matter how unfairly they&rsquo;re treated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When this pattern gets established, changing it feels disruptive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But if you choose to be difficult, none of this can get very far.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The unhealthy dynamic doesn&rsquo;t escalate because you don&rsquo;t let it.
