As we already said, there are 8 moon phases:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1. <strong>New Moon:&nbsp;<\/strong>We practically can&rsquo;t see this phase of the moon, because a shadow engulfs the moon and the surface looks dark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. <strong>Waxing Crescent:&nbsp;<\/strong>With this phase we see a very thin crescent on the right side of the moon and this is also the first visible phase of the moon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. <strong>First Quarter:&nbsp;<\/strong>In this phase we can already see half of the moon. It looks like a half-circle on the right side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. <strong>Waxing Gibbous:&nbsp;<\/strong>This is where more than half of the moon is visible but it&rsquo;s not quite full.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5. <strong>Full Moon:&nbsp;<\/strong>We can deduct from the name that, this is in fact, the phase where the moon is full. The moon appears like a big plate in the sky.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6. <strong>Waning Gibbous:&nbsp;<\/strong>Now this is when the moon starts to shrink. More than half of the moon is still visible, but it looks as if someone is slowly taking bites of a cookie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>7. <strong>Last Quarter:<\/strong> This phase is where we can see half of the moon again, only on the left-hand side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>8. <strong>Waning Crescent:&nbsp;<\/strong>While the moon continues to shrink, we can notice that there is only a thin crescent left.
