It can feel quite tricky to figure out what you can expect from them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you fail to challenge them, they get bored and restless, missing out on important skills. They&rsquo;re starting to notice how the world responds when they try to communicate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The most important thing you can do for your kid at this early age is <strong>talk to them constantly<\/strong>. Speak softly and with warmth.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When you&rsquo;re doing something, like preparing their bottle or changing their diaper, narrate what you&rsquo;re doing.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tell them what you&rsquo;re feeling and describe the things you see around you. Through games and songs, you can teach them to point to their nose, ears, eyes, tummy&hellip;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Repetition and playfulness are still important because you need to keep their attention while trying to teach them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It&rsquo;s also the time to start giving them <strong>simple instructions<\/strong>, such as telling them to bring their shoes over or to wave goodbye to someone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Their confidence grows every time they&rsquo;re able to understand an instruction and complete it. Flash cards are a reliable tool for learning and naming all these new things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, it&rsquo;s even more important to help them name the things they see in the real world. That&rsquo;s much more engaging and memorable for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Learn the names of fruits and vegetables together while shopping. Allow them to touch the food you&rsquo;re naming to provide a <strong>sensory experience<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is also the time for kids to start playing simple <strong>logic games<\/strong>, like stacking rings by size and doing shape puzzles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Give them some <strong>paper and crayons<\/strong>, too.
