Some were just doing their job.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All of them <strong>witnessed<\/strong> the crucifixion up close.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here are the people the Gospels place near the cross, and what their presence still says to us today!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. To them, it was routine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But that day was different than any other.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Matthew 27:54<\/strong> describes how the earth shook, and the sky went dark as Jesus was crucified, and the soldiers were frightened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then, they declared that <strong>He truly is the Son of God<\/strong>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They were the ones who executed Jesus, but also the first to admit He was God!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Their realization serves to teach us that we&rsquo;re never too far gone. We can always return to Him, no matter what.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After all, the very men who nailed Him to the Cross did.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Her position is <strong>the most tragic<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus was her blessing; she carried Him and watched Him grow, and then, had to watch Him die right in front of her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It&rsquo;s a testament to her strength that she chose to stay close to the Cross instead of running away so she wouldn&rsquo;t have to watch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>John 19:25<\/strong> confirms that she stood by the Cross.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Simeon had told her decades earlier that a sword would pierce her own soul (<strong>Luke 2:35<\/strong>), and at that moment, it did.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are no words recorded from her at that moment, but her presence says everything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sometimes, the most powerful thing you can do for someone who&rsquo;s suffering is not leave. You might not be able to help, but you can witness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mary shows us the strength of quiet faith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. The authorities have just arrested and executed his teacher, and John is risking the same fate by standing in public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And that&rsquo;s when Jesus thought about the people He loved, despite His agony.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Seeing His mother and John together, He said to her, &ldquo;Woman behold your son,&rdquo; and to John, &ldquo;Behold your mother&rdquo; (<strong>John 19:26-27<\/strong>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From there on, John took her into his own home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This touching moment from the Gospels allows us to see Jesus as a devoted son. Even during the crucifixion, He takes time to make sure His mother is taken care of.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He rewarded John&rsquo;s faithfulness&nbsp;with a <strong>sacred responsibility<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. She watched as the Romans took away His body, and she came back before dawn on Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He devotion didn&rsquo;t stop even when things started to fall apart.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And it was fitting that she was the first person to see the risen Lord (<strong>John 20:11-18<\/strong>).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mary Magdalene, much like the Romans, shows us that Christ doesn&rsquo;t care about the past.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Devote yourself to Him when it matters, and you&rsquo;re forgiven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5. Many believe she is the same person John calls Mary the wife of Clopas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Her story is <strong>ordinary but beautiful<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She wasn&rsquo;t one of the Twelve; what she provided was her time and energy, and heart to Jesus. She was also among those who stayed at the crucifixion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mark tells us she watched from a distance, and later came to the tomb, ready to serve again.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This part of the Gospels teaches us that the <strong>Kingdom of Heaven<\/strong> is carried by people like her. She is all of us, who don&rsquo;t have much to offer God except faith and time.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Her role isn&rsquo;t prominent, but heaven noticed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">6. She was one of the women who had followed Jesus in Galilee and served Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She supported His mission with her own resources.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Many Bible readers connect her with the mother of James and John, the same woman who once asked Jesus for special places of honor for her boys (<strong>Matthew 20:20-21<\/strong>).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If that&rsquo;s the case, her story is even more moving because, standing by the Cross, she understood the cost of true glory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She is an inspiration for believers who think they&rsquo;re not enough; <strong>our faith grows<\/strong> if we stay devoted long enough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She went through confusion, disappointment, and grief until she finally saw Jesus clearly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Salome stood near the cross with the other women, then went to the tomb on Sunday morning (Mark 16:1).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">God doesn&rsquo;t give up on people who walk with Him.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">7. We need community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These women also crushed stale stereotypes because they stood by Jesus, even after most men had run away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Their courage quietly shaped the story of the resurrection, which they witnessed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">History rarely remembers people like them, but the Gospels do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">8. Aside from Jesus&rsquo;s mother and His disciple John, these were ordinary people who quietly supported Christ and never stopped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They didn&rsquo;t perform miracles, and some of them didn&rsquo;t even believe He was God until He was crucified!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yet, they were there, becoming part of the story the Gospels preserved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The biggest thing these names teach us is the uselessness of <strong>\u5b8c\u5168\u4e3b\u7fa9<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today, many Christians try to be ideal believers, and it takes them nowhere. They become exhausted and even jaded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This list shows just how <strong>simple true faith<\/strong> can be: you stand and you witness, and you don&rsquo;t let anything keep you away from Him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Doubt and sin are a natural part of it.
