There are a variety of reasons why people may put off completing a task. However, these reasons generally fall along similar lines; astrology can provide insight into the individual patterns of procrastination in each sign.
Each sign exhibits unique ways of working, responding to deadlines, and demonstrating responsibility.
1. Aries
Typically, as soon as Aries begins a project, they will complete it quickly and with a lot of active energy, but once the project becomes inactive or is completed with repetitive energy, they tend to procrastinate because they have lost the energy to continue it.
Thus, procrastination for Aries is not avoidance; it is maintaining momentum while working through a project. When they no longer feel as though the project is an active engagement for them, they will become disengaged from the project and will start to procrastinate.
2. Taurus
Taurus is inclined to procrastinate whenever they have to work in conditions of chaos or instability; secondly, they prefer stability, slow pacing, and order.
When working under chaos or a lack of clear instructions, Taurus may simply refuse to continue on in support of the task.
When they complete their task, Taurus can take on a different persona, as they will demonstrate consistency and reliability towards their work after they comprehend the process in its entirety.
The delay for Taurus will typically occur early in the process of work; once they have developed a comfort level with the process, they will normally complete the task.
3. Gemini
The problem of being divided in attention makes it hard for the Gemini individual to move forward with tasks. They are so interested in many different things that it is difficult to stay focused on a task for long.
Starting multiple projects will cause them to bounce back and forth between them and, therefore, create a pattern of never finishing anything by the due date.
They procrastinate, but not because of a lack of desire; rather, they procrastinate due to a lack of mind stillness. When a project holds their interest, they finish it quickly; however, their issue is to keep that interest long enough to finish.
4. Cancer
When a Cancer feels a lack of connection to a task emotionally, they will procrastinate. If a task does not feel as though it has meaning or if it feels uncomfortable to Cancer, they will not feel motivated to complete it.
In most cases, they will wait for the emotional connection to the task before they start the task or continue working on the task, which creates a pattern of procrastination that appears to be unplanned.
Their ability to accomplish a task is related to how they feel; when they feel emotional about a task, they will work on the task consistently. Thus, Cancer’s procrastination is more about their own internal state than about the task itself.
5. Leo
Leo will procrastinate on tasks that do not inspire him or her, or if there is no benefit to be received from the task.
If the Leo does not see an overall benefit/result of completing a task, he or she will find it harder to get motivated to complete it.
They will be more likely to be productive on tasks that allow them to express themselves or be seen. Leo tends to procrastinate whenever they feel a task is going to be repetitive, so the procrastination is not based on a fear of responsibility.
6. Virgo
Virgo may postpone tasks because of the desire to perform the task correctly, to analyze data thoroughly, and to ascertain how to proceed perfectly.
They may be concerned that if they don’t have everything in order before they start working on a project, they will invariably make mistakes.
Once they do start working, they tend to be very accurate and consistent in what they do. Their procrastination occurs prior to their taking action, not while they are promoting a project. Procrastination is a reflection of the Virgo’s desire to live up to their own standards.
7. Libra
Libras may delay the completion of tasks once they are required to make a decision in order to proceed.
They tend to spend a great deal of time weighing the options available to them before choosing the best course of action, which causes them to have a pause before they start any new task. Their desire to feel confident in their selection of how to proceed slows them down.
Their procrastination is related to feelings of insecurity rather than a lack of effort. After they have made their decision, it is typically much easier for them to continue.
8. Scorpio
Scorpios may delay tasks that they have committed to once they do not trust the outcome. They prefer to move forward with their plans only when they feel secure about where they are going.
If a plan is either missing essential information or appears to lack total certainty, they may decide to wait until they have those key pieces of information before moving forward.
A Scorpio will often procrastinate based on emotion. If a task is boring or uninspiring or unfulfilling, they will delay it or avoid it altogether. However, when they do finally take action on the task in question, they have the inherent ability to take action with vigor and passion.
9. Sagittarius
Sagittarius will often postpone doing tasks that seem to limit or confine them. They enjoy being able to move freely and without structures.
If an action seems to be too structured or confining, they will often avoid it or postpone it until later.
Thus, they tend to put things off until the last few moments. They can create a significant amount of work in a short amount of time when they need/want to.
10. Capricorn
Capricorns do not tend to procrastinate in usual ways. However, they may delay doing tasks that they find to be of no value to them. They tend to focus on efficiency and the long-term effects of their actions.
Capricorns will delay a task if they feel it is of no use. Their delay specifically relates to how they frame the task they are completing.
When Capricorns feel that the task has meaning and is likely to help them achieve their goals, they perform the task with discipline and focus.
11. Aquarius
Aquarius often postpones tasks that they perceive to be too monotonous or repetitive. This sign enjoys doing things that are new and unique.
Thus, if a job lacks creativity or does not provide variation, it will become increasingly difficult for them to remain engaged.

12. Pisces
