He famously lived in a gigantic ceramic jar (sometimes called a barrel) in Athens, rejecting all material comforts and social norms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Known for wandering around with a <strong>lantern during the day<\/strong>, he claimed he was searching for an honest man. You could say he was on a literal quest for the truth!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This philosopher also loved shocking people. He got kicked out of several city-states for his <strong>provocative antics<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He even once gratified himself publicly to shame a Corinthian visitor. Legend says he had a mystical experience where he was carried by a chariot into the heavens to receive divine truths.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He became so convinced of his visions that he refused to eat or drink, thinking that the <strong>\u7269\u8d28\u4e16\u754c<\/strong> was just an <strong>\u5e7b\u8c61<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His obsession with the unchanging nature of reality made him a pretty enigmatic figure.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some say he lived in a state of <strong>mystical trance<\/strong>, always lost in his own ideas.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">6.
