Is Kabbalah the Religion of Hollywood?

In the 2000s, numerous celebrities were spotted wearing the same red bracelet and attending classes at the Kabbalah Centre.

This got journalists and fans talking, since everyone kept wondering why this exact branch of Judaism?

Jewish influence in Hollywood is a known fact, but these esoteric teachings were something else.

Most people encounter this tradition while reading about Judaism, rarely taking the time to understand what it actually is.

Kabbalah has never existed solely in spiritual circles. Through powerful figures and institutions, it has always enjoyed a massive political and social reach.

The late Menachem Mendel Schneerson was one of the most politically connected religious leaders in the 20th century America.

He had a strong relationship with multiple US presidents. He played a part in establishing Education and Sharing Day, and he had also influenced legislation, specifically the Noahide Laws. 

Overall, the mystical Jewish theology is so connected to political lobbying that the conspiracy theories write themselves.

The Kabbalah Centre was established by Philip and Karen Berg. Their idea was to make Kabbalistic teachings available to non-Jewish people.

This was controversial by itself, especially among traditional Jews, who have always seen Kabbalah as something reserved for experienced scholars devoted to understanding Torah.

She did so much to help popularize the Centre and spread its influence among other celebrities. 

8. Which Celebrities Are Involved?

While Madonna is the most prominent figure, many others are involved with Kabbalah.
