8 Karmic Contracts You Need to Settle

8 Karmic Contracts You Need to Settle

Coming into this life, we bring along spiritual baggage known as karmic debt.

This debt comes from a karmic contract, which is essentially a soul agreement you made before you were even born.

Some of these promises were made to other souls, while others you made to yourself.

They’re designed with good intentions, but when left unresolved, they follow you from one lifetime to the next, never letting you have peace.

You need to identify these contracts so you can finally settle the debt and live freely.

1. Contracts With Other Souls

These contracts can really complicate your life.

It’s when you agreed to meet certain people in this lifetime, long before you ever met them in real life.

It’s someone who was important to you in your previous life: a family member, a friend, or a romantic partner.

When you meet them, you feel an immediate connection that you can’t explain. It’s often impossible to walk away from because your souls have history.

The purpose of your meeting isn’t always to stay together. Sometimes, they represent a lesson that you still haven’t learned.

Your karmic debt is to learn how to break your pattern and grow emotionally.

If you feel inexplicably tied to someone, for better or worse, know that there is a spiritual reason for it.

2. Past Life Vows

Many of us are operating under old vows we don’t consciously remember.

In other lifetimes, your soul made a contract that you’re still fulfilling today.

Maybe you were betrayed once, so you made a vow to never trust again; or you’ve experienced poverty, so you vowed to obtain a fortune.

These promises silently shape your beliefs and behavioral patterns in the present.

The vow was relevant in the past life, but in this one, it only holds you back. You need to recognize when you’re following an old agreement and consciously choose to let it go.

3. Ancestral Contracts

Now, not every debt you carry is yours personally.

Some contracts were created by your ancestors and passed down through your bloodline, sometimes for generations.

These can manifest as patterns of shame, fear, poverty, silence, etc.

You might find yourself struggling with issues that no experiences of your own can explain.

However, it’s believed that we choose our lineage for a good reason; since you inherited these harmful patterns, you likely have what it takes to end them.

It’s a heavy responsibility, but resolving these issues won’t only make your life easier; it will create a brighter future for your descendants.

4. Contract of Sacrifice

This specific contract is common among healers and empaths

There was likely a past life where you were a priestess, a healer, or a monk. In that existence, your soul swore to sacrifice personal joy or romantic love in devotion to a higher calling.

While it made sense then, in your current life, it creates a massive imbalance.

It might show up as overgiving, guilt around receiving money, or feeling bad for having needs. For instance, you might feel that you don’t deserve to be paid for your work.

You must recognize this karmic debt and release it.

You can be of service to others and to yourself; one doesn’t exclude the other.

5. Contract of Unworthiness

Some souls carry contracts of guilt from choices made in other lifetimes.

Maybe you caused harm in a past existence, and the weight of it never left you.

In this lifetime, that guilt persists as a nagging feeling of not deserving good things. It leads you to self-sabotage whenever you get close to success.

You might feel shame that has no clear origin in your current life.

You continue to pay for a crime you committed centuries ago.

To release this karmic debt, you need to truly understand that you’ve already lived that life. You’ve already taken accountability and endured punishment.

Carrying this shame now doesn’t help anyone.

6. Contracts of Love and Support

Not all karmic contracts bring misfortune. Some are wonderful, and they enrich your life.

You can recognize them in people who make you feel safe and accepted from the moment you meet.

Perhaps you have a friend who feels like home, or a partner who finally made you feel like you’re worthy of love.

These aren’t chance encounters.

These are souls who agreed to show up in your life as blessings.

They’re meant to find you and help you out when life gets difficult.

You should cherish these connections because they’re very rare. They gave you unconditional love through lifetimes.

7. Contract of Spiritual Activation

Some souls agreed to come into your life with the sole purpose of waking you up.

These are intense, activating contracts.

These people challenge you, leave you, or trigger your insecurities. They can feel disastrous in the moment, but looking back, you realize they were important.

They pushed you out of complacency and forced you to make a change that you otherwise never would.

They help you grow, so you should be grateful, even if they feel like disruptions.

8. Soul Remembrance

The contract of remembrance is the most powerful one of all. It’s the agreement you made to wake up in this lifetime.

You promised to remember who you truly are under the layers of social conditioning and ego.

You came here to heal the lineage that others before you couldn’t.

This is the contract of purpose.

You’re here to break cycles and find meaning.

When you feel the pull to do more, to be more, you know it’s being activated.
