How to Know You’re Lacking Prayer?

How to Know You’re Lacking Prayer?

Prayer is often treated as a chore, but it can be a form of self-care.

When you lack prayer, certain things in your life keep going wrong, and your problems seem so much bigger than they truly are.

You need a connection with God, and the courage and confidence that come from that!

These 7 things happen when you lack prayer!

1. You Wake Up Burdened with Problems

The moment your eyes open in the morning, your mind is already overwhelmed.

Instead of stretching and allowing yourself to wake up slowly, you start drowning in anxiety, and you can’t figure out why.

The bills, awkward conversations, and the tasks that await you occupy your head, leaving no room for positive thoughts.

This is a typical sign that your life lacks prayer.

Without prayer, you’re carrying all the weight alone. Every problem seems worse than it truly is because you feel weak and abandoned.

God is there with us every step of the way, offering help. But it’s up to us to reach out and accept it.

When you don’t lack connection with Him, everything starts to look easier. You approach life with joy and confidence because you’ve been reminded that He’s there for you!

2. You Never Speak to God

Even though you believe, if there’s a lack of communion with God, you’re bound to feel separated from Him.

No matter how busy you are, you can make a little time to talk to Him and to keep Him in your mind. Tell God of your problems, and you’ll instantly feel better.

Prayer doesn’t always mean sitting down and reflecting for an hour. Sometimes, it only requires a few minutes!

It’s meant to be a constant conversation with the Creator, so simply keep him in your heart throughout the day.

Think of Him while driving to work and on your break.

Our connection with God isn’t something we should leave for special occasions.

This silence leaves you feeling isolated and lacking, which is why life starts to seem so bleak.

3. You Keep Looking for Peace but Can’t Find It

Peace isn’t a luxury; it’s a requirement for a happy and fulfilled life. Lacking peace can lead to family issues, anxiety, and even chronic diseases.

So, you try to find peace by creating it.

You stretch, drink some wine, watch your comfort show, eat your snacks, and still nothing.

This is because you’re looking for peace in all the wrong places. The one place where you can always find it is with Him.

Typically, it’s only after exhausting every other option that people turn to God

He always welcomes us back, and we always keep forgetting that He is the only true source of peace.

4. You Procrastinate When It Comes to Praying

Procrastination is so incredibly common today, but when it starts affecting your relationship with God, you know you’re lacking prayer.

You know you should pray, or at least read the Bible in silence, but still, you reach for your phone and start scrolling.

Somehow, it feels easier to spend hours on that than be present with God for a few minutes.

This happens because scrolling is passive and requires nothing from you. Prayer requires focus, vulnerability, humility, and engagement.

Avoiding prayer like this is a clear sign that something needs to change.

Don’t trade actual connection for empty entertainment just because it’s easier.

5. You Treat Prayer Like a Chore

People imagine that praying every day requires a lot of time and knowledge, so they get intimidated before they even begin.

However, you can pray however it suits your needs.

Some people prefer elaborate prayers that require the Bible and praying beads, while others lie down in bed and simply speak to God.

Neither is lacking, and both bring you closer to Him.

So, stop looking at prayer as a chore when it can actually help your soul breathe!

Change your approach. It’s not a task, but an invitation to relax in His arms.

It’s only hard if you treat it like an obligation.

6. It Always Feels Like You’re Running Out of Time

Prayer is one of the few things that help us slow down in our fast, busy lives.

If you feel like you’re losing all control, like time is just passing you by, you might be lacking prayer.

When you intentionally take a break to sit with God, life stops feeling like an emergency.

It puts things in perspective, helping you realize that half the things you’ve been stressing over are actually manageable.

It helps you see the bigger picture and realize how good you have it.

God never gives us more than we can carry, and prayer is a way to remind ourselves of that!

7. When You Don’t Lack Prayer, Your Days Feel Blessed

Your whole life starts to feel easier and more meaningful when you don’t lack prayer.

In the morning, give your first thoughts to God, and at night, allow Him to take your burdens.

Everything you do feels protected when you keep Him in your mind.

When you go a long time without praying, your days feel scattered and unprotected. You are left to face the morning alone and process the night with your own anxious thoughts.

Prayer might not be required every day, and it’s not something you should do out of guilt.

Create a routine that works for you, and approach it from a place of love.
